FAQ
Cookie consent questions
Does it really stop Google Analytics before consent?
Yes. The Analytics tag is rewritten to type="text/plain" in the HTML your server sends, so the browser never runs it until the visitor allows the Analytics category.
Does it support Google Consent Mode v2?
Yes. ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage start as denied before any Google tag loads, then update from the visitor's choice.
Does this cookie banner make my site GDPR compliant?
No plugin can do that on its own. It gives you prior blocking, granular consent and easy withdrawal; you still need an accurate cookie policy and a lawful basis for your processing.
Does it work with page caching?
Yes. Blocking is identical for every visitor, so pages stay cacheable, and consent is applied in the browser from the visitor's own cookie.
What if a tracker is not recognised?
Add a rule on the Script Blocking tab (pattern|category), or mark the tag with type="text/plain" and data-ccg-cat. Add data-ccg-ignore to exempt a script.
Do visitors need to reload after accepting?
No. Allowed scripts start in place. An optional reload setting exists for the rare script that misbehaves when loaded late.
Is there a free version?
Yes. Free includes script blocking, six layouts, Google Consent Mode v2 and click-to-load embeds. Pro adds four layouts, location rules, a site scanner, per-language text and a consent log.
